Sapphire-ness
For the past few days, I've been playing Pokemon Sapphire yet again, this time with a team of Pokemon I never trained before. This goes for the starter too - I started the game with Mudkip of all things (I'm slowly warming up to Mudkip and Swampert appearance-wise, though I still despise Marshtomp with a passion).
Gracilis (named after a subspecies of Mudskippers), my Swampert, has proven to be perhaps one of my most powerful Pokemon yet, With the devastating Earthquake/Surf/Ice Beam/Brick Break moveset. Oddly enough, she managed to defeat the infamous Metagross of Doom with only two earthquakes.
My other powerhouse is Sihaya, my Gardevoir - Who is officially one of my favorite Psychics nowadays. even though Ralts and Kirlia are annoying-looking, Gardie's cute. And her Psychic/Calm Mind/T-Bolt combination is excellent against certain annoying Elite Four members.
My resident flyer would be a Tropius named Apache, Currently bearing the fabulous Magical Leaf/Fly/Body Slam combination - I'm still debating with myself regarding the final move. It'll probably be Steel Wing, because I'm not sure I want to waste EQ yet.
And last but not least, the team concludes with my Linoone, Procyon, who, besides posessing a wonderful slash/headbutt/shadow ball combination (if only it learned some other silly moves, eh? ^^) picks up items for me.
My other team Pokemon are HM slaves - a Slakoth bearing Cut/Rock Smash/Strength (named Roadkill - because admit it - Slakoth looks like one. It even has the tire marks!), and a Chinchou carrying Flash, Surf, Waterfall and Dive.
After defeating the game, I went into a Legend-catching spree, starting with a levelling up of a Wailmer in order to obtain a Wailord. Yes, I did what I thought i'd never do. Unlocked the Regis. AND GOD, I LOVE THEIR BATTLE THEME.
They were a bitch to catch though. So annoying to catch they were, that when i caught them, I named them Bastarock, Basteel and Bastice. The three legendary bastards. :P
Funny thing about this game is how it surprises you at times. So here I was, levelling up that Wailmer, when guess what? LATIAS! Latias has that annoying Legendary Dog problem - EG she runs off the first instant she can. She had full HP. I figured I might as well say goodbye to my Masterball, so here I go and fling it out... only I threw the wrong ball.
I threw a Dive ball at Latias. When she had full HP.
AND SHE WAS CAUGHT.
........ Now THAT is what I call holy freakin' ow. O_O
I suppose that now I have to go to Sky Pillar and catch that green monstrosity known as Rayquaza. I probably won't until later though, as he is annoying as hell to get to. Heh. ^^;
Nothing much to report otherwise except for the fact that having a certain someone online right when I wake up (I usually get online immediately when I wake up nowadays - which usually happens late at night) improves my mood for the rest of the day. ^^;
