Catching up.
Jul. 13th, 2003 04:01 amDidn't have much to say... But now i'm back. ^^
I read some of the old dead RPs I participated in a long while ago... All nostalgic, I was. Don't ask. Had some rather interesting characters before... but oh well.
I've had some kind of a strange idea for an RPG or an adventure game or whatever... it started off as a wild tangent about a myth which seems to repeat itself...
I'm sure you're familiar with Ouroboros, the serpent coiled around the earth, biting its own tail. Have you ever noticed it seems to appear in the mythology of almost every nation on the planet earth? The norse Jormugand, or Midgar Serpent. The Sanskrit Vritra. Dragons biting their own tail in Medieval European glyphs. Egyptians had a version too... And I'm sure the Greeks had one, meaning the Romans stole it from them.
Nations that had nothing to do with each other thought up the same bloody concept!
I'm sure this must have some sort of meaning... but what? And where did the myth truly originate? From a common concept which has multiple roots? Or more interestingly...
Ouroboros may have been here long before humanity split into nations. Something unknown might have inspired the myth, and it has been passed on from generation to generation... And even after wars, religion, and all other such evil nonsense messed humanity up more than it was already messed up... Down to the present day.
I doubt that it truly was a giant freakin' sleeping snake, but it must have been something. A vision? A freaky mass-dream? An artifact? A structure?
Some concepts, like the Ouroboros myth... may have been somehow imprinted in the human mind by an unknown factor. And somehow I get the idea of everything being connected...
And This was a rather long ramble. ^^;
Apart from that, Life is pretty ordinary, only I can't draw anything, I finally caught up on the Violinist of Hamelin manga (which is one of the silliest things i've ever read... XD) and...
Well, truth be told something IS on my mind...
It seems like me and some people have just, I dunno, stopped talking. It's like we have nothing to say to each other. These people happen to be some of my closer online friends, and it's just... strange, is all. Sad, too.
(sighs) I'm sure it'll turn out fine at some point. I'm just bloody confused lately, is all.
