A Million Points of Light...
Sep. 21st, 2010 03:47 pmPokeMon Black Version's 'dex entries were finally translated, and reading one of them in particular really made me smile - Urgamoth's. Its White version dex entry was pretty bog standard PokeDex-Entry, something about it releasing flaming scales from its wings, bathing the area around it in a sea of flames. But its Black 'dex entry serves in part to explain why there is one in a shrine in the middle of no where...
"It is said that when the surface was blackened by volcanic ash, Urgamoth’s flame became a substitute for the sun."
Reading this 'dex entry evoked a very powerful mental image in my head - an image of an age of darkness and cold where the sky was choked by dust and hope was dim. Then, as if by magic, the normally elusive Urgamoth emerged from their hiding places with a glow like thousands of small suns, bringing light and warmth back to wherever they were needed - saving life from extinction.
Again with PokeMon protecting the balance of nature. God damnit, I love this series. I also find myself wondering if this is part of what they meant when they said that the region of Isshu could not have been what it is if not for People and Pokemon working together.
